Flowers and sunshine

I’ve posted a picture of these before but there aren’t so many flowers around and these look lovely. 

Next week everyone will be gone and I will be second from the top. I wish I could think of something to do with the power but I think it is mostly illusory. 

I fell in love with the idea of a subject for the show in the martial arts. I met a woman who has a Kung Fu school and she said her child, who takes Kung Fu, was nonbinary, but they never got in touch with me. I began looking for trans people in martial arts and I found a woman who has a Taekwon Do school in Goshen NY. She teaches one class just for trans kids. I wrote to her. She never wrote back.

A friend of mine posted the article about the show on her facebook. The woman saw it and told my friend she wanted to participate. My friend connected us and when I saw who she was I was delighted and surprised and realized the email went to her spam.

Goshen NY is five hours away in a gas car and we have holiday driving now or I swear I would go take pictures of them myself. 

I fell in love with the idea because I am a huge proponent of girls taking martial arts. I think you carry yourself differently which makes trouble less likely. I think other kids are less likely to mess with you just because. You are more likely to come out ahead if someone does attack. It increases confidence. 

I am now a huge proponent of T/NB kids and adults taking a martial art. 

I also like the idea of people seeing T/NB kids and adults as badass, and of T/NB kids and adults seeing themselves as badass, and of the narrative being something other than being victims. 

She is asking her class tonight if they want to participate. 

I so wish I just happened to know a photographer in Goshen NY who was interested in doing something like this for free.
