Wigwams

This is how the Gunneras are protected from frost at the botanic gardens in Cambridge. I love the shape these make. I’m pretty sure gunneras have recently been put on the naughty list of nuisance plants due to their overbearing habits. Like giant hogweed they’re still pretty spectacular.

I collected my mum from South Mimms service station on the M25 this morning. It’s a good handover point for my brother who had driven her up from Dorset. I’d assumed the traffic would be manic but we all had easy journeys. She is staying for a week, first time away from home since 2019. Not bad for a 91 year old.
How are your Christmas preps going? My to-do list still needs some work.
