Train Bodø to Lønsstua

So the plan was Hut #1 Lurfjellhytta, Hut #2 Tverrbrennstua, Hut #3 Bjellåvasstua, Hut #4 Midtistua, but there's probably no snow on the route to Lurfjellhytta. We could change our start point and get in to Tverrbrennstua, but the snow will be marginal, the start would be very late and we know of another largish party heading that way too, so the huts could be crowded.

So here we are again, having got the train from Bodø, at Lønsdal station. Definite similarities to the start of last year's trip photo. Let's hope the similarities end there as we failed to get out of Lønsstua for four days last year.

There's not a lot of snow on the short road between the station and Lønsstua, the sensible option was to walk, those that attempted to ski provided us with some entertainment which we returned when attempting to navigate through some deep muddy slush.

Late that night a couple of Norwegian fishermen arrived they'd two enormous pulks and a dog, like us they were planning to cross over into Bjellådalen, their plans were then to spend a few days fishing and camping there. They chose to spend the night in their tent!!
