EB of a secret mission
A full day of toing and froing between the kids schools - Danny went to Asha's for her parent/teacher feedback and then we both went to Nate's for his end of year party. Asha's feedback was generally great but she needs to make more effort in Catalán!! Her mark was noticeably lower than everything else. The teacher also noticed she was very down recently, it coincided with the dates of that incident with the friend and the anonymous phone bullying. So Danny and I need to work out how to support her more in the Catalán...
Nate's school do was lovely. Really lovely to catch up with various teachers and to see Nate getting stuck into every activity, the sports and the crafts. Asha's school finished early so she walked to Nate's and was given huuuuge hugs by her old teachers.
This evening she had the metal mouth piece removed!! After 9 months of it being in! Her jaw has now grown as it should and it's onto the teeth stage next. She has a month with nothing which will be good. Her gums are extreme bloody and swollen, lots of salt water washes the dentist said. Hopefully it'll all calm down soon, all being well in time for her Christmas lunch!
Nate and I went on a secret mission to get her a very fluffy cushion I knew she loved. A well done on the past 9 months but also on the process of having it removed, something she was dreading.
Today I'm grateful for;
1) Mitch getting home early and making pancakes with Nate. He's found some peanut protein powder for Nate, so they set to creating something tasty with it.
2) The jaw treatment for Asha being successful. It felt like a form of torture at points, I'm glad it's been worth it.
3) Danny being in the right place at the right time for a homeless friend who was feeling at the end of everything.
