Dirty Pictures

"Wow", thought I, "the dirt doesn't stick to the paint on those cool pictures" (on the back of the truck I was following).
Then it hits me..that's not paint! Instead of writing, "WASH ME", someone drew amazing pictures in the dirt! (View large)

Earth feels like that sometimes. All coated with the dirt and grime of painful situations, bitter memories and jumbled up fears and regrets. Humans feel like they've been drug through the mud and want to cry out...wash me!!!!

When life becomes drudgery to me, I thank God for the work of His son, and begin to ask Him to wash my heart and my mind so that I will be thankful again. When I have forgotten to be thankful for the opportunities to work hard and to serve others, I am reminded:

"What profit has the worker from that in which he labors? I have seen the God-given task with which the sons of men are to be occupied. He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end." ~Ecclesiastes 3:9-11

Life is too big to figure out, but if there could emerge some genuine beauty from the dirt, then so be it.
