of finding books I didn't know I needed, while shopping for presents for others, is a very real one. David Kahn's 'The codebreakers: the story of secret writing', published in 1966 before the Enigma story was unwrapped, and read as a teenager, set me on a path to an MSc in digital forensics. A great story teller.
