Most years I make another “tree” in addition to the traditional Christmas tree to use some of the ornaments for which there is no room otherwise.  I look for a suitable twig but this year bought a fake “hazel twig” in a sale and decorated it with several of the things which bring back memories of people and places.  Here some of the things include a glass bell from Austria, some ornaments and straw stars from Germany, olive wood when S visited Bethlehem, a bead Christmas tree from South Africa and a Santa from America.  I made the candle with some of the candle stubs from a Christmas Watchnight service and friends have made the felt baubles, the delicate tatted snowflakes, the angel and paper star and the dough ornaments were made by two of the grandchildren when they were infants.
