LIFE!!!

a-maze-ing

I saw online this morning that there were 17 places going spare in today's Aquaerobics class - almost unheard of - but I resisted the temptation to fill one of them and spent another quiet morning at home.

This afternoon, I took Jess out around the woods, nothing too strenuous. These woods are relatively undisturbed so good for fungus-spotting. My main photo is of the Oak Mazegill (looking up at its underside from the ground) and my extra is of the Splitgill fungus (Schizophyllum commune) which is a new one to me and very interesting.

I was tired after all that so sat at the kitchen table and persevered with the NYT Spelling Bee, with which I have become slightly obsessed of late. Today I reached Genius level and have only 3 words left to find, but they are proving very elusive.

All the baubles are on the tree. I really enjoyed putting them up, and reading all about the Covid pandemic in the newspaper the baubles were wrapped up in, from April 2020. What a glorious thing is hindsight...
