Black noddy
Steady rain today, so I have time to catch up on Blip. I was amazed to see huge numbers of black noddies on the ground and in the air as I walked through the 100 Acre Reserve this afternoon. They seemed to be collecting nesting material, but they were very tame. I only had my cell phone but was able to get close enough for photos.
Actually, I've blundered on this trip. I intended to bring my colour camera and work with the variety of birds here, but I somehow brought the infrared body instead. No big deal. I'll just have to come again. In the meantime, I will be forced to test out all my lenses on the IR camera. Most are supposed to produce hot spots, but at least I'll find out how bad it is. So black and white it will be. Quite good for the trees, maybe. There is one Norfolk Island pine taken with the phone in extras. Too wet to get out the big camera today.
