Canterbury cathedral

Mary and I had tea at my house and then we had tickets for the Demelza carol servce. Demelza is the children’s hospice here in Kent. Maggie’s granddaughter died there in 2021 and Maggie her daughter and Mally’s surviving twin are in the Demelza choir. They sang Chosen Family and Winter Wonderland, the former so moving and the latter so jolly.
In this time of conflict it was good to reflect on the significance of the Christmas story.
For the last hymn the lights dimmed and we held candles. So beautiful.
Alan dropped us off very nearby and picked us up afterwards.
