For the family

By RonaMac

Another stunning day

We headed south and west today, initially to Arrecife to visit the museum of Contemporary Art in Castillo de San Jose. I love the way in which the old is adapted / converted and integrated into the modern.

Then on to San Bartolome to the sculpture seen in the blip which was dedicated to the farmers of Lanzarote and is made from ancient water tanks and based on a design of Cesar Manrigue and built in 1968

We finally drove on to Teguise to have a wander round the town. Such a tranquil island so quiet and fresh feeling. The gardens are mostly so manicured, with the occasional one that is chaotic.

A name that kept popping  up both yesterday and today is Cesar Manrigue.

I had a restful afternoon to recharge the batteries.
