Festive Porty

One of the more impressive outdoor light displays in Porty, just along the street from our flat. Taken on the way to the last Monday night game of football of the year. Eight-a-side and a close game. We scored first but they came back quickly and took a two goal lead which we eventually clawed back when I scored from a rebound to make it 4-4. The score remained level when oldest man on the pitch G (who is said to be 75 - is that possible?) found himself unmarked at a corner but his header was straight at our keeper who pushed it over. You'd have thought our defence would have been alert to the threat at the next corner but G found space again and powered an even better header into the top corner. We pushed for an equaliser - their defenders blocked shots and N in goal managed to push a a shot of mine that was heading in onto the post. B had two great chances to put one past his Dad in goal but fluffed his shots - and they then hit us on the break for the clinching goal. Still, a good game to end the year. On my way home stopped off at W's house for a get together with some of the Town Hall trustees. W had done us proud with some excellent party food and a very tasty mocktail.
