Old Church, Muthill
Coming home from Edinburgh this evening and looking out for something to blip without having to resort to the garden again! The road home goes through Muthill which is a conservation village only a few miles out of Crieff. It has a long & rather distinguished history having originally been the Diocesan seat for the Bishop before the diocese moved to Dunkeld. The whole village seems to have been pretty much destroyed as a result of the Jacobite activity in the area (the Drummonds, the local 'big' family, were Catholic & Jacobite) & these ruins are all that is left of the old church. I was trying to get the effect of the sky through the Gothic arches & failing miserably so I'll have to go back & try again some time.
There's a history of the church here.
