What. A. Day.
I was out before the sun was up as I had Nate's feedback meeting with his teacher. I was delighted to hear about how well he's doing in every aspect of school life.
Home and I'd sat down when I got a call from a homeless friend saying someone who used to live on the streets here was back and in need of help. A bit of a surprise as last I knew she was in her country of origin and stable. It was an incredibly difficult and sad morning, plus a lot of verbal abuse thrown at me as she essentially put me in the middle of her psychotic break. We ended up in A&E but they wouldn't admit her into the psychiatric unit...and nowhere would allow her to stay. There's a month wait list to have an appointment to get onto a hostal wait list!!! Such a hard morning. The woman ended up going off and leaving her suitcase with me, so I don't know where she'll sleep tonight. I came home feeling utterly done in.
The nicer news was that the guy who'd lost contact with his family 20 years ago had a video call with his sister!! Danny went with the phone and they had 45 minutes... She spoke to Danny afterwards and said it was very emotional.
Stephen came round for team meeting. Nick came round to borrow the car. Claire came round with wine.
An extremely rollercoastery Monday.
Today I'm grateful for;
1) The feedback on Nate.
2) A woman at the women's refuge being at the end of the phone helping me work out how to help S.
3) The family being back in (good) contact after so many years apart.
