Life...

No prizes for guessing that the good intentions I had last night to be a good girl and not have a late (and wine-fuelled) evening went a little bit pear shaped...

I didn't get to bed until 1.30am as we got so engrossed in drinking wine chatting we lost track of time. Needless to say, getting up to do the school run with H this morning wasn't particularly enjoyable. But a lazy morning and a few coffees later and I decided there was only one thing for it - hit the shops and spend my birthday vouchers!

I picked H up from school and the weather was so glorious that as soon as Matt got home we decided to pack up our tea, grab the picnic rug and head off to Holcombe Hill. We climbed to the top and sat there in the glorious sunshine with the most amazing views and had a little feast of crusty bread, grilled chicken, new potatoes and salad. Perfection.

You know me and my awful knowledge of all things plant related - I haven't a clue what these are. But they're everywhere up at the top of the hill. H says they look like truffula trees from the film The Lorax. I'm quite sure that's not what they are though...!
