Place: St Pete Beach, FL 64/68
Main activity: Sat - rainy, Gallery Opening Day #2
Notes: Woke just after 4a again and had the thoughts about moving out (to who-knows-where) and the upcoming holiday travel and the tiredness taking over ... decided I probably should go back to the prop mgr and see if I can stay and go month-to-month. Took awhile but went back to sleep until just after 8a (thankfully!). Rainy morning as predicted. Slow getting going and helped Bette w/ a bunch of things. Shower and had coffee and then left for gallery around 1045a. Slow day w/ mostly steady rain. Around midday, water pressure suddently dropped and a water main seemingly broke - I guess the storm and flooding caused many of these in the area. Turnout was next to nothing ... disappointing but with all our exhaustion, we were enjoying the quiet, low-key. Jana (gallery mgr) wasn't feeling well and went home early. 3rd singer (Erin Boone) started singing to us around 6p and was wonderful! We also enjoyed amazing mocktails from the little trailer that came w/ Erin. Around 7p?, Ellen checked something in the gallery and found water coming in the big east wall (that has the donkey mural outside) - wall wasn't sealed. We rushed to get all art off the wall and to a safe, dry place - she was devastated. Water entering in a couple different spots and near some electric. Couple vols were still there and helped us ... it was quickly decided that day 3 of the Grand Opening would have to be canceled. Not what we were hoping but also some relief. I headed back to Bette's then just after 8p, still driving rain.
