Heavenly Vanilla
Another plant blip and another clematis blip! This clematis climbs over a pergola that spans the space between the house and the garage. And it helps create a little garden room at the side of the house where we have a table and chairs - nice for sitting having a coffee, some lunch, or even a glass of wine when the weather is good. It's well-established as we planted it a number of years ago. Its 'trunk' is wonderfully woody and knurled and to me has a very magical look about it. I have little dragonfly lights which look good when sitting out on a summer evening. It's in full flower at the moment and apart from looking good it smells absolutely wonderful - I think it has a vanilla scent - hence heavenly vanilla. (I'm having nightmares about it because we might need to cut it back drastically to have some work done on the house!)
