Little Grey Rabbit

Little grey rabbit,
Perfect as when life left you,
Your fur wet with dew.

I came across this little rabbit while walking this morning. I don't know what caused its death as it looked unharmed and unmolested. It lay there like a sleeping dog does when dreaming of running ..... it's fur wet with the dew ... how sad.

I remember the Little Grey Rabbit books from my childhood .... I don't remember the stories, but the wonderful illustrations and the feel of the shiny paper they were printed on will always be with me...
