Almaty
And me.
The last time I came here, to Kok Tobe, was way back in February when I came to see the Beatles. I couldn't see further than my hand that day for the fog and ice. I said I'd come back before I leave and today was the day. It's a wee bit hazy but that's the heat - an absolutely glorious day. Jackie and I took the cable car up to the peak - and we braved the fast-coaster, a kind of toboggan ride down the side of the mountain. We then crossed town, on foot to sit on Tinkoff's roof for a couple of hours before meeting up with some others for supper in Line Brew. A very pleasant last Saturday in Kazakhstan. This time next week, I'll be on my way home.
