Bristol Floating Harbour
This is the view looking just to the left of the M-Shed, standing where I took yesterday's photo. It's called the floating harbour because it used to be tidal but some ingenious engineer in the 19th C came up with a plan to plug this bit of the harbour up (albeit with locks so boats can still come in and out) so the water doesn't drop drastically twice a day. There's a river called the 'New Cut' nearby which takes the impact of the tides so that the boats in the floating harbour can stay floating.
