Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

JR only went to one gym session this morning, because her other gym buddies were having a coffee morning at one of the local cafes, so Archie and I went out for a walk round the 'hood.

I am pleased to say that I can see fairly normally again, but it took almost all of the evening to come right. I don't know what drops they put in my eyes! And I really shouldn't have left the spec shop and wandered round town in such a state - it was all a blur. So it's nice to be just slightly short sighted again.

Archie and I popped in to a neighbour to see how she was. We had a Christmas card hand delivered when we were out, and it was signed. 'Mary'. Now, we know four Marys, so I've been trying to eliminate them. The first one to be eliminated was this morning. I have to admit that we’re really not in to sending Christmas cards any more. I find that a special What's App message or a newsy email is best.

I needed new slippers, so I went down to JL for a look. Thank goodness JR accompanied me. As soon as I'd grabbed a suitable pair, we went to the cafe for a scone, and then I came home. I don't think I'll be going down town again - the buses are mobbed - I had to stand for a while.

We've been enjoying The Crown. I must say, they were kind to Princess Margaret. Loving all the wee digs at various folk - Kate's mum plotting, Harry saying his job was to be a prat, to make Wills look good.
