Humbling
Today I've been to the AGM of the Talking Newspaper Group - yes, my life is varied! All the technicians who work the computers and send off the memory sticks were there, as were the editors who choose what we read. I was there as a reader. By far the largest group there were the people who receive the Talking Newspaper who of course were either partially sighted or completely blind. Many of them came from a "Seeability" home and they enjoyed themselves together, particularly when we had community singing. On my table was a man who was totally blind and it was a new experience for me to help him.
It was good to meet the people that I read for, and a humbling experience to see how cheerful they are in the face of all their problems.
A very hot and sultry afternoon with no sunshine. A quick blip in the garden before I go out to the WI birthday party this evening with entertainment and goodies to eat.
You will be delighted to hear that the WI Quiz Team did come second in the Village Week Quiz last night. First and we would have to organise it next year, so second is the best possible result.
