Standing Tall

A plaster bust of Sir Francis Drake  at Buckland Abbey taken today. It was used in the manufacture of two brass sculptures that can now be seen in Tavistock and on Plymouth Hoe. The figure is around 12 feet tall and it stands in front of you as you ascend the stairs to the top of the Abbey. An imposing figure of an adventurer who led a eventful and colourful life!
