First night in Auckland
This is a late posting.
The radiator system was completed today, so we’ll be very warm and toasty whenever it’s cold. Also, A the painter came and worked on the stairwell. He’s a perfectionist and it was slightly difficult to get him to realise that it’s only a stairwell and we’ll be the only people using it most of the time, so it doesn’t have to be absolutely perfect. He was hoping to get the first topcoat on today and the second one tomorrow, but we had to leave before he was finished.
The drive to Dunedin Airport went well, we parked the car, had a coffee and joined the queue for security, which went smoothly. Our flight was 45 minutes late so we were late arriving in Auckland. My sister and brother-in-law picked us up and we drove to St Heliers. We had to wait for our table at La Vista but that gave us the opportunity to have a pre-dinner drink and a good chat. The meal was delicious and it was a most enjoyable evening. M and P even drove us into Central Auckland, which we thought was extremely kind. It was a late night, so we headed for bed as soon as we got to our room, hence the late posting.
This is our favourite view from La Vista.
I’ll probably be lagging behind with comments and checking in on journals for the next few days.
