Ice Splinters

As I thought, ice arrived overnight, although not the whole lake. The ice shelf went out 60' or so. I could hear it creaking in the wind. There were other patches and one supported a small flock of gulls. It steadily floated towards the head of the lake.

I liked the pattern in this section of ice. Not sure what causes the ice splinters to form, but the S-curve follows where the foam was the other day.

Extra: Disappearing Sun. I should have stayed out to watch the clouds light up, but it gets cold! I liked how the cloud shape from the right echoes the reeds from the left.
