Not Quite Seven Swans A Swimming

We chose our Christmas tree this morning and set it up with the lights, ready for Sophie to help decorate when she visits after school tomorrow.

This afternoon  I had an optician’s appointment in Wells to check my prescription now that my eyes have settled after the cataract operation. We took the chance to wander up to the Bishop’s Palace and we’re just in time to witness the swans doing their party trick, ringing the bell for food. Successive generations have learnt the trick.

Having ordered a new pair of glasses it was back to Street to see the doctor about my back, which is taking much longer than normal to recover from tweaking it about 10 days ago. A case of rest, painkillers and patience, it seems.

Tonight saw the annual Keep Fat Christmas do.
