Cammell Laird Shipyard

Afternoon sun over this famous Merseyside shipyard. The company was founded by Scottish entrepreneurs William Laird and his son John and has been operating since 1828s. It was finally formed from the merger of Laird Brothers of Birkenhead and Johnson Cammell & Co of Sheffield at the turn of the twentieth century.
Hundred of ships later it remains a large part of our local skyline.
