Clouds, Cranes, and an Olive Tree

Walking up our Lane into town, heard these two cranes calling; the sound is so loud and distinctive, you immediately know to look for them.

And now a quote from an article I read by Elizabeth Oldfield, that resonated with me:
Camus said, "if you have no character you have to apply a method". Methods are so appealing. They make things feel clear, safe, equitable. They are incredibly useful for some things. Not character though. Not soul growth. These things require a surrender of the thing a method is good for: certainty... I have come to believe an inability to tolerate uncertainty is one of the biggest barriers to Fully Aliveness (the name of her Blog).

May we be given the gift of tolerating, even welcoming, uncertainty.

Gratefuls:
- stunner of a day, with bright blue skies, sunshine, perfect temperatures of between 8 and 15C
- prayer walking into town and brunch on the outdoor patio at Morango Bar
- our son FTing and cheering me up, and then listening to our eldest preaching the sermon she gave at our church on Sunday, using the illustration of her camera lenses (yes, she is a Blipper)
