Another beauty

I've been waiting (patiently) for my peonies to bloom. Here they come :-)

This flower head is big .... about 12 inches wide? If you look closely, you can see the veins in the petals.

Elsewhere, the roses are in bloom, as are the water lilies. Still waiting for my honeysuckle to burst forth.

Picked our first strawberries yesterday. Both the red and black currants are looking good. Not so sure about the fruit trees though. We will have some apples and pears, but I don't see any sign of the plums. Is it too early for them? I can't remember. We'll definitely get some cherries this year.

Just read an article that says we will have wet miserable summers for the next ten years. There's a cheery thought!

Update: Wish I had waited a bit longer before taking this shot ... more are in bloom now and the sun is shining. Quite hot!
