Tis the season …

For queues and mince pies.

The queues were post office and were not particularly lengthy late afternoon. Until I got to the counter to send off some calendars. The bureaucracy we x and the counter staff x have to undertake is incredible compared to a few years ago.

A custom declaration form has to be handwritten for each calendar by the sender with their name and address and: a description of the contents; the quantity; the weight; the value; the total and then has to be signed and dated.

Once at the counter the staff then have to type in those key details along with the recipients details. It took ages and the poor people behind me had to stand patiently.. There must be a better way!

The mince pies were at the end of a church meeting with refreshments which provided a good opportunity to catch up and chat. Rather than a photo of a plate of mince pies I liked the view of them through the packaging with the light overhead casting a reflection.
