Kitchen session

After the first decent night's sleep in almost a week, I felt somewhat better today, still coughing but not constantly. Took advantage of some rare dry weather to go out into the garden this morning, and planted six of the seven bare-root roses into their containers in the front garden. They - and a few other plants ordered online - arrived over a week ago during the freezing cold spell.

Lovely to chat on the phone with C, a friend from Wooler, after lunch. Lots of news to catch up on! Meant that I was a little later than planned walking into town, but no matter! Posted cards, but the soap I'd hoped to buy is out of stock until tomorrow.

In the evening Anita and Jimmy came to play some tunes with MrM, sitting round the woodburner in the kitchen, while I listened and continued writing cards in the living room. Apparently our kitchen space is ideal for playing music, so they'll be back before too long.
