Dark early

It hardly seems like the daylight hours have begun before they suddenly end. Serves us right for living so far north.  I did some report writing and then phoned the kitchen supplier to report that our 6-month old dishwasher, a premier German make, has decided to wash dishes no more.  It is dead, defunct, deceased. We are promised a service engineer within a few days.  We will see.  Saint Patrick's Church looked eerie in the near darkness.
