'Tis the Season...
...but for what? I think a lot of people got these 12 foot high skeletons from Costco at Halloween and now cant't figure out where to store them. This is the third one of seen with a Santa hat. His bottom half is hidden behind one of the three cars that are almost always in this driveway.
I woke up at about 3:30 this morning and was having trouble going back to sleep so I finally got up and made myself a cup of hot milk with honey and vanilla. It works surprisingly well and I went back to sleep, but it was probably about 6am by then.
I mopped the kitchen floor, something I have been thinking about doing since before Thanksgiving, and gave Spike a bath. He hates it and must have heard me mention it to John because he got up and went outside. He's much curlier now and I've changed him into his seasonal red collar.
I rode Dana's Peloton ride through Puerto Rico this afternoon and watched Jim making lasagna noodles by hand for dinner tonight...a good winter evening dish. My contribution is a salad with persimmons, radicchio and walnuts. There is something about the short days and cold nights that seems to sap my energy. I don't think I'm the only one who feels it, but it is difficult to contemplate the challenges of the season when all one can think of is going to bed!
We had a beautiful fiery sunset tonight which lasted fo about six minutes Now the sky is dark and the night is drawing in....
