Simple things.

Outdoor Christmas lights standing up well to the last couple of days of rain and wind, “Storm Elin” apparently. I bought new screw hooks with a buckle clip in February…. they’re windproof, and secure cabling better than the open cup hooks I’ve previously used. They’ve got other uses too.

I tuned in to watch the final day of play at Alfred Dunhill Championship from Leopard Creek course adjacent the Crocodile River bounding the Kruger National Park in South Aftrica. And it ended up interrupted by rain, thunder and lightning. We’d been at an earlier round of the 2023 competition in St Andrews; the weather was appalling - rain stopped play then too. At least in SA it was warm rain. The event rolls over to tomorrow.
