Scotland Tour - Day 3

Day three saw us once again heading North.

A nice drive up the notorious Cock Bridge to Tomintoul road. This is nearly always the first road in Scotland to close when the weather turns nasty.

We had a couple of stops on the way. Corgarff Castle, ancient seat of the Forbes family, at Cock Bridge. Then a quick coffee stop at the Lecht Ski centre before heading up over the Don at Grantown-on-Spey to have lunch at Fort George.

Fort George was a fantastic place. Well worth the visit if you get the change and the café has some great soup.

Our journey continued North via Inverness and the Kessock Bridge, where we got stuck in traffic for 30 minutes, across the Black Isle and Cromarty Firth to our mid-week destination in Dornoch.
