Chimney Sweep

Burning wood creates
Soot in the chimney which needs
Cleaning with a brush.

In this case, the brush is at the end of a series of flexible rods pushed up the chimney by electric drill. Clever, and J is very pleased to be able to do this.  Fire now burning again but there wasn't much soot and no mess made in the room.
