Hayes

This is our county's biggest garden centre where I always buy a poinsettia. I refuse to buy them from supermarkets as they display them near the door. Poinsettias don't like a chill. I take bubble wrap to get them home in the car safely and warmly across the car-park.

I also intended to buy crackers for the Christmas and New Year visitors to the lodge but recyclability and lack of plastic made the packs they were offering ridiculous. I don't mind plastic if it's a sensible useable trinket.

The day was lovely as we set off but we soon drove into very heavy rain.
