New view
We got up fairly slowly and headed over to meet VW at Sterlings for a chat and a scone before V and I had our vaccinations for Borneo….Typhoid, Hep A, polio, diphtheria and Tetanus (last 3 combined in one jag). Exciting to think we’re just 12 weeks away!
We then dropped the car at home and walked into town. Started in the St James’ Centre and after some browsing we went up to the top of the new hotel building to get a sense of the view…unfortunately the by now pouring rain and gloomy sky meant we couldn’t see far but it was interesting to see familiar places from a different angle. They said they were fully booked (felt fairly empty!) so we couldn’t have a drink to explore a bit more, but interesting to take a look.
We tried a couple of places for lunch but they were full so we walked home via a very tasty late fish lunch at The Outsider. We picked up a few things for supper later and got changed out of wet socks and boots and settled down with a cup of tea to relax a bit. I ended up asleep for a while as we watched a documentary about Cary Grant.
Very lazily we basically spent the rest of the evening on the sofa, having our cheese and hummus and watching a daft film that A recommended. I was meant to do some online shopping and writing of lists but ended up getting sidetracked by a depressing/infuriating read that Arclight sent to me….sigh!
