A taste of Christmas at Royal Holloway

My cold had eased enough to allow me to go with my wife and Aussie Emma to a brass band concert put on by the students at Royal Holloway, University of London, this evening without fear of ruining the music with coughs and sneezes. Unfortunately, daughter Jen is still suffering with her cold and didn't come. The auditorium was full, mainly it seemed with friends and family judging from the whoops. The concert theme was a Taste of Christmas although this was  more apparent in the second half when the musicians went into brass band formation. The first half was in big band swing style with a selection of Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington and Glenn Miller numbers. Impressive playing all evening, helped by the mince pies and mulled wine at the interval.
