Ice, ice, baby

Out for a couple of miles' walk at lunchtime, and everywhere was incredibly slippery with frost and ice.  You'd think the place had never seen a gritter in all of history.  I had presumed that with all the rain yesterday, and the snow gone but the temperature close to freezing, trail walking shoes would be sufficient but I was all over the shop, valiantly clinging to grassy verges, gravel, and even the occasional lamp post.  I think I'd better fit my YakTrax next time!

This was the only photo I took today, but I liked the tiny, rectangular ice crystals on the fallen leaves (you might need to zoom in a bit, all y'all phone viewers).
