Siddick Pond

The Three Adventurers set off on an expedition this morning. We drove to West Cumbria to meet up with DerwentLass and hubby for lunch at Dixon's in Dunmail Park.

Our reason for choosing this location was not just for me to reminisce over the period in my life when I regularly organised craft fairs in the mall but for it's close proximity to Siddick Pond.

This is a roosting area for starlings and it's a while since I've seen a murmuration. We chatted in the café until about 3pm then headed out. The starlings did arrive, but the groups descended rapidly into the reed bed without waiting for the next group.  There was no dramatic swirling overhead. Good job there was an obliging cygnet!
