Life in a Northern Town

Petit-déjeuner

I’ll Blip for yesterday later - it was a busy day!

Today we fly back, we have the morning free so we are having a leisurely breakfast and then off to do some shopping. It’s been fabulous, and with the company of this excellent person too.

My high school French has served me well, apart from the fact I’m sure I’m mis-gendering all the nouns. As with all languages it’s easier to speak and read than it is to hear; I was pleased with my breakfast ordering until the waiter asked me a bewildering question - I had no clue. After much butchering of French and English between us it turned out he was asking if I wanted my omelette medium or well done - who knew that was a thing. Vive la France!

Edit: I’ve added a couple of extras from an ill-advised trip on a very windy big wheel.
