Shaver Lake, etc.
Well we woke up in Shaver Lake, blue sky outside, hotel was cosy and nice, a quick breaky of french toast and bacon and off to see what all the fuss was about... as soon as we got a glimpse our jaws dropped, Shaver Lake was looking amazing and we spent 30 mins there just admiring it. It looked like one sticky-outy-bit was floating in the sky.
We tried for a short hike but trails were closed, so headed higher up to Huntington Lake which was very low... there were lots of boat jetty docks all resting on the sand. At one point we hit over 7000 feet on the road.
But we had miles to do, so headed south, hugging the Sierra Nevada forest... Pine Flat Lake also looked dry but large. Headed back into Sequoia National Park, had a wander around some massive trees (General Grant Tree) and the Kings Canyon Overlook which we also visited in 2016 so didn't blip it again, and were then treated with a wonderful sunset as it disappeared below low clouds. Arrived at Wuksachi Lodge for the night ahead of a big tree day tomorrow and onwards to the bright lights tomorrow.
