Woke up to about 10 cm of snow. My Dad phoned to tell me not to go over to Mansfield as there was 5-5 inches there, but also told me he was in a lot of pain from his catheter but couldn’t get either an ambulance or a taxi. Phoned my brother who had got his car off the drive and went round and took him to a and e. They eventually decided he had an infection and sent him home with antibiotics. However later the day the catheter stopped draining so the outreach nurses agreed to come out and change the catheter, which is what I think they should have done in a and e. The nurses wouldn’t come out earlier as the bag was still draining then. He is ok now but this problem is occurring more frequently so I will try to get him an appointment to discuss if anything else can be tried. I didn’t go out but found plenty of things to do to try to distract myself!
