The sea froze over…..
…….. and then the tide went out, leaving a layer of ice draped over the rocks of the shoreline. To be more precise, this was not open sea but the head of the loch where a river flows and mixes with the salt water, making it more brackish and therefore more liable to freezing in sub zero temperatures (-6 overnight).
A few of us spent the morning at the community orchard, preparing for our open day tomorrow. More preparation back at home followed by a short walk in the frost with Bertie. He likes to have a snack of ice crystals every few paces.
