A Day of Two Parks

The day started in Roundhay Park on a dog walk with E's family, all her kids and partners gathering for the twins' birthday yesterday. It had snowed overnight and it was blissfully quiet and beautiful at 9am.

It was then a mad dash over to Temple Newsam Park to be on the start line at 11am for a Peco cross-country. Forrest told me the club needed a V65 counter for the Vets competition and I thought I'd do my bit. To my shame, I rarely do. It was a lot of fun in the snow and with over a thousand runners across the different races, a complete contrast to the first park experience of the day. For the record, I got second place in my category and earned some valuable points for the club. There are 25 clubs competing across the vets and we got 3rd place overall.

I realise that another six whole weeks has passed since I last posted, which doesn't seem possible. I've been knocked out by a cold for a good few of those, and a nasty cough, but I think I can announce myself over that after today. It's taken a while to start feeling myself again.
