a lifetime burning

The first Sunday in December saw the now traditional Santa Run take place in the village.  As is also traditional, it rained.  But it was at least quite a bit warmer than yesterday, as the cold snap has now been replaced with the wetter milder weather that is customary here for December.

We had Jess visiting so went for a rather wet walk this morning, before I settled down to cook for us.  As 3:30 in the afternoon the sun is already disappearing in the cloudy sky and dusk is approaching.  It's not that long now until the shortest day/longest night.
