Con gusto!

24 hours of full-on grandparenting including their first overnight stay minus parents. It went well but left us rather drained.

Supper was a huge success: spaghetti carbonara with no vegetables (but organic pears for afters.) 

It's lucky that we are the sort of people to hang on to old stuff (and have the space to keep it): we've had to buy very little new. The agriculturally themed mugs date from our sons' childhood (there are plates to match) and the large box of Duplo building blocks that kept the girls occupied  likewise. We never threw out the book collection either: reading them again, repeatedly,  is a lesson in changing social attitudes.
