Gothenburg Greats

40 years ago Aberdeen won the European Cup Winners Cup beating Real Madrid in the final in Gothenburg. An unforgettable day for me and some pals who made the trip to Sweden for the game.

Tonight there was an evening at the Music Hall with 3 of the players (Miller, Mcleish and Leighton) reminiscing about the team, the match and of course the manager - Sir Alex Ferguson. Charlie Nicholas ( ex Celtic, Aberdeen, Arsenal and Sky Tv) was the host.
It was a thoroughly entertaining evening with lots of laddish dressing room banter and gossip and some interesting insights into the state of the current team and Scottish Football.
