St. Jude’s

Today was another lazy day on the farm. The temps were mild and we even saw the sun occasionally. Our BIL made us blueberry pancakes. I cooked myself sausage since I do not eat scrapple. After breakfast, we visited our neighbor and gave her a poinsettia to get her in the Christmas spirit. Hubby rode his ATV and our BIL planted grass seed where it is needed. We made lunch, showered and headed to town for Mass, stopping at a craft show on the route. We attended St. Jude just to give us options. The new priest at our usual church is very hard to understand. With us both not able to hear clearly, we miss so much of the liturgy. We are now in the Advent season. You can probably see their Advent Wreath to the right of the altar. My sister is making dinner while we are in town. We are awaiting sad news from our family. My last maternal aunt in the last stages of her life. She is Father Bill’s mom, who we lost earlier this year. I think she gave up on life after he passed. Kristen’s grandfather-in-law also passed a few hours ago. He was in Hospice care. It is hard to be very cheerful while others are enduring heavy crosses. Stay safe and make every day count. Thanks for your visit. "It is the beautiful task of Advent to awaken in all of us memories of goodness and thus to open doors of hope."- Pope Benedict XVI (Joseph Ratzinger).
